The Tapestry of Thought, more commonly referred to as the Tapestry, is the smallest and youngest of the regions of Argonnessen. The region was established 4,000 years ago as a place where dragons of different lineages could meet and exchange ideas. The region is also the home of the Chamber.[1][2]
Geography[]
The Tapestry is much smaller than other three regions of Argonnessen, and lies between the Vast and the Thousand.[3]
History[]
The Tapestry was conceived by a group of younger dragons 4000 years ago, who wanted to bring dragons of different colors together to exchange new ideas about religion, the Draconic Prophecy, and philosophy. These dragons were ignored by older dragons, until they successfully predicted the emergence of dragonmarks among humanoids. The Conclave then provided the Tapestry of Thought as a territory for these younger dragons to experiment and continue their work. Eventually the Conclave allowed these dragons to act outside of Argonnessen, resulting in the formation of the Chamber.[1][2]
Government[]
The Tapestry is an egalitarian society where dragons of all ages and color may have an equal voice in the internal conclaves at Vorel'arux, "the Valley of Beauty." Few dragons are interested in administration, and elder dragons who helped found the Tapestry as adults thousands of years ago have taken on this role and attained great influence. Since only great wyrms can speak at the Conclave, these dragons who helped found the region speak for the Tapestry.[1]
Notable Locations[]
- The Crystal Library of Azalakardon[1][2]
- Vorel'Arux, "the Valley of Beauty," a valley that serves as a meeting point in the Tapestry.[2][4]
Inhabitants[]
Around 600 dragons usually inhabits the Tapestry, although that number fluctuates frequently.[1] Some nondragons also reside in the Tapestry, but are still looked down upon by the dragons of the region.[1][2] These include a number of yuan-ti spies hidden away in the region.[1] Foreigners are treated with suspicion or hostility.[1]
Alongside the Warders who founded Io'lokar, the dragons who reside in the Tapestry support the Chamber. The Tapestry dragons differ from the dragons who founded Io'lokar in the Vast because, unlike the Warders, the Chamber is largely indifferent to pursuing outcomes of the Prophecy that assist the lesser races.[1]
Notable Inhabitants[]
Dragons[]
- Jancarlyrix, a great wyrm bronze dragon loremaster who is the wisest of the great wyrms of the region that advocates for the Tapestry in the Conclave.[1]
