Copyright Violation Mind Games in Eberron (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/eb/20040413a) --Amaril 02:27, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

Copyright Violation?[]

Isn't the Wiki under the Fair Use Doctrine? Or have the Fair Use Doctrine shrunk again? Are you sure that Wizards of the Coast is being hurt? Or do you want to make sure their Monopoly on Eberron is maintained despite fair use? Elton Robb98.202.8.54 14:50, November 14, 2010 (UTC)

Its fine.[]

Any and all 3.5 edition material is no longer in print, and is not being sold by Wizards. What are they losing? Somebody is posting something that they do not sell.

It is perfectly acceptable[]

The link provided goes directly to a page with the same information, posted in an unrestricted area of their site. Additionally, this information does not violate the OGL, (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=d20/article/srdarchive) which specifically states what is and isn't open for publication inside the D20 gaming system. Next time please do research before assuming copyright violations.

WotC's Copyright[]

Whether or not you think it's fair use doesn't mean you can copy paste content verbatim, ignoring the actual copyright notice at the bottom of the given page: "©1995-2010 Wizards of the Coast, Inc., a subsidiary of Hasbro, Inc. All Rights Reserved." Whether or not the content is still printed and sold has no meaning in copyright law.

Referencing or paraphrasing the material is encouraged. Copying and pasting content verbatim is not.
