The Sulatar ("Firebinders" in Giant)[3][note 2] are a tribe or series of tribes of drow that retain some knowledge taught to them by the giants. Clinging to the arcane lore taught to the dark elves by the giants forty millennia ago, the Sulatar have continued the ancient tradition of elemental binding.[3][1]
The Sulatar drow have built a large settlement in the ruins of the Obsidian City[3][4] of Gundrak'ul.[5][6]

Notes[]
Background[]
Keith Baker has clarified that the Sulatar do not consider the current, degenerated giants of Xen'drik to be the same as their rightful rulers from ages past.[7] This explains their conflict with the fire giants of the Battalion of the Basalt Towers, who seek to reclaim the lost city of their ancestors in the Sul'at League that the Sulatar now live within.
