The Skai Sharaat, meaning "Great Blade" and also called the Sword of the True King, is a legendary magical sword of the Empire of Dhakaan. It is of immense historical and cultural value to goblinoids, and especially the Dhakaani.[1][3][2]
Description[]
Despite its power and prestige, it appears unremarkable, just an old and worn two-handed sword with a leather-wrapped hilt and a dull blade with a number of notches. Its only feature is the symbol of Dhaakan on the hilt.[1]
But Skai Sharaat comes alive in battle, with tiny runes of orange light flaring on its edges. The wielder feels their sword-arm strengthened and their instincts sharpened, as well as urge to defeat all foes of goblinkind that, though slight, can never be ignored or suppressed.[1]
Powers[]
The Skai Sharaat has the powers of a +6 axiomatic greatsword of speed. It can smite any foe with devastating damage thrice a day. One successful strike a day can also inflict the harm spell at its user's will.[1]
History[]
According to legend, an ordained champion of Dhakaan was granted the Skai Sharaat, so that they might do battle against all enemies of the empire. Over generations, goblinoid mystics enchanted it with more and more magic and it was valued highly in goblinoid history and culture.[1]
The Skai Sharaat came to be held by the clan of Kech Shaarat, a name meaning "Bladebearers" after the sword. Thanks to it, the Kech Shaarat wield political influence beyond their actual power. It is currently in the possession of their chieftain, Ruus Dhakaan.[1] However, Ruus feels he has no right to wield the Sword of the True King until all the Dhakaani clans are united under his rule[2] and he has proven his right to rule through conquest.[3] Ruus favors a spiked chain until that time.[1]
