A shadesteel golem is a form of planar construct named after Mabar-based metal used in its construction. Often standing at 7 feet tall and weighing 1500 pounds, these skeletal-like golems guarded the crypts and lairs of necromancers and undead.[1]

An invention of the dreaded lich Jahakinir the Shadow-Wizard, the first four shadesteel golems were crafted and forged on the plane of Mabar as a gift to Jahakinir's apprentice, the vampire Osilvune. The intent was for the lich's protege to travel to Eberron and forge a kingdom. The vampire did so, but in her pursuit of her own ambitions, Osilvune made too many enemies, and disappeared without a trace. Her minions tell of the treasures she hid within secret sepulchers, guarded to this day by her shadesteel golems.[1]

It is unknown if Jahakinir ever made more of these constructs.[1]
