Sarlona is a continent in Eberron's northern hemisphere on the opposite of the globe from Khorvaire. It is the continent from which both humans and kalashtar originated. The majority of the continent is ruled by the Unity of Riedra.
Geography[]
Sarlona lies opposite Khorvaire and north of Argonnessen. It stretches from southern tropics to northern tundras and includes a number of inland lakes that are large enough to support navies and maritime trade. It has seas on all fronts, the Sea of Rage to the West, the White Sea to the North and the Barren Sea to the South-East. Sarlona is larger than Khorvaire, its Northern apex in the Tashana Tundra measured down to its Southern antapex in Adar is roughly over 3300 miles.[3]
Most forms of geography can be found in Sarlona from the Tashana Tundra to the plains of Syrkarn to the mountains of Adar and to the desert of Riedra. The weather in Sarlona is more unpredictable and harsher than that of Khorvaire. Sarlona has frequent and unexplainable planar effects unlike any other continent in Eberron. It is frequently the host to extraplanar breaches, manifest zones and reality storms that affect the landscape and physics of the land.[3]
Nations and Regions[]
Politics are dominated by Riedra, which also takes up the bulk of the continent. The other regions of Sarlona are not ruled by any single unified nation, but instead contain a mixture of nomadic tribes and independent towns, villages, and monasteries.[4]

Races and Cultures[]
Changelings[]
Changelings are mainly found in Riedra, where they are considered valuable agents by the Inspired. Unfortunately this means that they are often distrusted in other parts of the continent.[5]
Dwarves[]
There are two main cultures of dwarves in Sarlona, both in the Tashana Tundra. The dwarves of the Dorann Holds live in the Eska Mountains, while the Akiak, a mixture of dwarves and duergar, live near the Paqaa Mountains or as refugees among the shifters.[5]
Humans[]
Humans are the most prominent race in Sarlona. There is a wide variety of diverse human cultures on the continent.[6] However, in Riedra they are ruled by a group of totalitarian dictators known as the the Inspired who have erased most of the old cultural and religious differences.[7]
Inspired[]
The Inspired are the lords and rulers of Riedra, the Chosen vessels of the Quori manipulators of Dal Quor who use the nation for their own purposes.[5]
Kalashtar[]
The counterpoint to the Inspired, the kalashtar are humans whose ancestors became vessels of rebel Quori. They are usually limited to Adar if they have not already fled to Khorvaire to escape the Inspired.[6]
Ogres[]
The ogres of Borunan were once a proud warrior culture, but they have either been subdued by the Inspired or forced to flee into Syrkarn.[8]
Shifters[]
The shifters of Sarlona mainly dwell as nomads in the Tashana Tundra as part of three nations, the Chunigi, the Qiku, and the Saartuk. Other shifters live under the rule of the Inspired, usually serving in the Riedran military.[9]
