Newthrone is a large port city on the Adder River and the capital of Q'barra. Newthrone is the seat of government for Q'barra, New Galifar, and the home to King Sebastes ir'Kesslan. It is a heavily fortified city, since it has been a target of attacks from lizardfolk, Lhazaar pirates, and Valenar elves.[1][2]
History[]
When the Last War splintered the Kingdom of Galifar into the Five Nations, Duke Ven ir'Kesslan of Cyre applied for and was granted the lands beyond the Endworld Mountains that the Lhazaar called Q'barra. The Duke's settlers founded the cities of Adderport and Newthrone.[3][4]
Since its founding, Newthrone has seen its share of attacks by the Valenar, the lizardfolk, and the Lhazaar.[1][2]
Description[]
Newthrone has been built in the architectural style of old Galifar, and has attracted the various dragonmarked houses, which have established enclaves in the city.[1] The largest enclave is House Tharashk, run by opportunist Khalar Velderan d'Tharashk. Khalar runs his dragonshard mining operations out of Newthrone.[1][5] In addition, House Ghallanda and House Jorasco have significant enclaves as well.[2]
Newthrone is also the host to various Lhazaar and Riedran merchants seeking trade with Q'barra.[1] The Riedrans even possess a small ward of the city, where only Riedrans and Inspired are allowed to enter.[2]
