Malshashar is one of the hidden monastic fortresses that guard Adar.[1][2]
Geography[]
Malshashar's true location is a closely guarded secret, especially as it is one of the fortresses guarding Adar's border with Riedra, but it is located in northern Adar deep in the eastern parts of the Ahnadiv Mountains. The area around the monastery are prone to storms and landslides.[1]
The core sections of the monastery are underground beneath a single mountain peak, but a few sections sprawl out under neighboring mountains. Due ot the secrecy and the harsh environment, even the food is grown underground.[1]
Trade[]
The monastery has psionic portals in its deepest caverns that connect to the dromite hive of Zi'til'natek, enabling trade.[1]
History[]
Originally, Malshashar monastery was a monastery in the foothills of the Ahnadiv mountains, closer to the border between Adar and Riedra. However, in 702 Age of Taratai (-100 YK) the original monastery was destroyed by a Riedran army.[3] It was later rebuilt higher up in the mountains.[1]
Inhabitants[]
While the majority of Adar are humans, with kalashtar a close second, in Malshashar most residents are kalashtar, with a few human monks. The kalashtar handle all of the military duties in the fortress. [1]
