Kothar is a Poison Dusk lizardfolk warlock of Q'barra and the leader of her people. Her name translated to "demon" in the lizardfolk language.[1]
History[]
At some point in time, Kothar became a warlock by making a pact with a powerful entity, allowing her to grow in power until she became the leader of her people. In this position, she discovered that House Tharashk had set up a camp to mine dragonshards in the jungles of Q'barra and were transporting them to Wyrmwatch. Believing the shards to rightfully belong to her people, Kothar formed a raiding party with several of her people riding on clawfoot dinosaurs to seize the dragonshards, doing so successfully at least once.[1]
In response, House Tharashk paid for an airship to transport a party of individuals to the dig site in order to guard the next shipment, ordering them to use feather tokens to reach the camp as the airship could not land. Kothar, seeing an opportunity to take more dragonshards, planned a second ambush shortly before the transport wagon reached a rickety wooden and rope bridge, ordering one of her people to attack the human guard who was driving the wagon—a man known as Umbero—with her people planning to fight to the death rather than disappoint Kothar.[1]
