Korrandar or Mount Korrandar is a towering mountain and the holiest site in Adar, Sarlona. It is inhabited by the legendary cabal of blue dragons known as the Storm Guardians.[1][2]

Geography[]

It stands halfway between Tashalatora and Kasshta Keep.[2] Mount Korrandar is the tallest mountain within the realm of Adar, Sarlona. Indeed, standing at 32,495 ft (9,904.5 m) feet,[1] Korrandar is the tallest peak on Eberron.[2]

Description[]

Korrandar is a forbidding, frigid mountain covered by glaciers and perpetually shrouded by storms.[3][4] It is also an active volcano.[4][5][6]

The mountain is beset by violent storms, ice and snow, strong winds, lightning, and supernatural forces including eldritch energy storms and planar breaches.[2] These storms often prevent flight, while the effects of the Shroud and the dragon artifact inside prevent dimensional travel.[3]

Notable Locations[]

The Spheres of Korrandar within the mountain are a major location in the area.[3] Only those who pass through the Spheres may use the Teeth of the Three.[3][6]

The Storm Guardians are believed to make their lairs within the mountain.[5] [3]

Near the base of the mountain, Adarans make offerings of valuables along with prayers at shrines to the Storm Guardians.[2][5]

History[]

The dragons brought the dragonshards forming the basis of the Teeth of the Three to Adar during the Age of Demons.[6][7] After the overlord Ran Iishiv was bound by the Silver Flame, his rage caused the volcano of Korrandar to form from the earth. The dragons placed the Teeth of the Three above the bound overlord, and used the artifact to draw Lamannia closer to Adar, while Ran Iishiv brought Kythri closer. The dragons used the elemental fortresses they accessed to elevate the land of Adar into the mountainous region it is today. The couatl then bound itself to the crystals of the Teeth to better channel Ran Iishiv's rage to form the violent natural and supernatural storms that rage across Adar today.[6]

Pilgrimages[]

Legends of Adar say that the sorcereress Vusgaar was friends with the Storm Guardians, and visited the Teeth of the Three. Her disciples believe that the Teeth of the Three was brought from Argonnessen, and holds a major role in the Draconic Prophecy.[6]

Haztaratai, the first kalashtar, made a pilgrimage to Korrandar, marking it as a holy site for many Adarans.[8]

Before Chanaakar was named Speaker of the Word, he braved the storms and sought an audience with the blue dragons of the Storm Guardians.[5][6]

Inhabitants[]

Adarans reside near the base of Mount Korrandar.[5] Those who attempt to climb Korrandar rarely return. Chanaakar is known to have returned, but does not speak of what occurred.[5] The Storm Guardians amass the riches given to them by the Adarans living near Mount Korrandar and offerings from the pilgrims.[3]

Draconic creatures are attracted to the Storm Guardians, and are more common in the area around Mount Korrandar.[3] A great number of draconic creatures such as dragon turtles and sea drakes join the Storm Guardians to protect the stormy seas off the horn of Adar.[5][9]

The overlord Ran Iishiv is bound beneath Korrandar, and his rage formed the volcano and the mountains of Adar. His rage is harnessed for the Teeth of the Three alongside the couatl that bound itself to the artifact for purposes unknown to any besides the dragons.[6][7]
