The Karrnwood is a massive forest covering northwestern Karrnath.[1][2]
Trade[]
The trees of the Karrnwood, particularly Karrnathi pines, are a major resource for Karrnath. Timber from the Karrnwood is exported as far as Breland and the Lhazaar Principalities or made into paper.[1]
History[]
During the Last War, residents of the Karrnwood served as archers in Karrnath's armies.[3]
Notable Locations[]
- Taer Syraen, a feyspire on the western edge of the forest.[4]
Rumors & Legends[]
There is an old Karrnathi saying that, "Winter rides tonight." The farmers of the Rekkenvale south of the Karrnwood take this saying literally, and say that Winter lives in the Karrnwood and brings frost south when he rides with his hounds. Since the Day of Mourning, the residents fear this may be becoming true.[5]
