The iron-tooth girdle consists of two wide, dull-grey metal bands designed to fit around the waist of a warforged. It has a hinge positioned in the back, and a clasp in the front engraved with the symbol of an open, fang-filled mouth. when activated, the warforged wearer violently contorts and splits in half where the girdle is positioned. From this split-in-half warforged, a giant maw opens, with razor-sharp teeth. This maw can stretch from the warforged's torso, attacking enemies with its vicious bite.[1]
3rd Edition Mechanics[edit | edit source]
Wearing the iron-tooth girdle, the warforged can make one extra attack per round, in addition to any other attacks the warforged can normally make. This attack is with the maw, which is considered a natural weapon. The attack has a 5-foot reach, does 3d6 points of piercing damage, and counts as a critical hit on a die roll of 19 or 20. It is considered a magical weapon for the purposes of calculating damage reduction. The girdle can make a total of ten bite attacks per day.
While grappling a foe, the warforged cam make an attack with this girdle without incurring the -4 penalty for attacking while in a grapple. If the foe is pinned, then the warfofged can have the maw automatically make a successful bite attack each round.[1]
