Lathon Halpum is the lath (leader in halfling), of the Abraman tribe, the largest tribe in the Talenta Plains.[1][2] Halpum is considered to be the founder of the Talenta Plains after winning recognition for it as a nation at the Treaty of Thronehold.[3][4]
History
Halpum was a Talenta battle-rider who led halfling warbands during the Last War for one of the largest halfling tribes. At some point during the war Halpum was elected by the Abraman trbie to become its leader. [1][3] Halpum united many of the halfling tribes to defend the plains against the destructive armies of Karrnath, Cyre, and Valenar, and they gave him the title of lathon, and the ability to negotiate for the tribes as a whole.[4][5][3] During the peace talks that resulted in the Treaty of Thronehold, Halpum represented the Talenta Plains, and won recognition for the halflings as a sovereign nation.[1][4] When the war ended, Halpum stepped down from the position of Lathon, return to leading the Abraman trbie, but is still addressed as Lathon as an honorific.[1][3]
