Goliaths are a race of stony-skinned humanoids.[3] Their populations are scattered across mountainous regions of many continents on Eberron.[4][5] Feral garguns are their distant kin, which dwell in the Frostfell and the Icehorn Mountains of the Eldeen Reaches.[4]
History[]
The goliaths first arose in Xen'drik, and either fled as the giants rose up to assume control over the continent or were enslaved along with the elves. Goliaths did not prosper in captivity—growing weak and dying quickly as they failed to reproduce. This is why few goliaths remain in Xen'drik today.[6]
Lands[]
Goliaths are thought to dwell in the Titan's Teeth Mountains in the interior of Xen'drik,[7] though their numbers there are dwindling.[8]
Goliaths live in scattered communities in various mountain ranges of Xen'drik, Khorvaire, and Sarlona. Goliaths can be found in the Shadowcrags and the Icehorn Mountains on the border of the Demon Wastes and the Eldeen Reaches, the Ironroot and the Hoarfrost Mountains of the Mror Holds, and Syrkarn and the Tashana Tundra on Sarlona. Some goliaths inhabit the mountains of the Frostfell.[6]
Religion[]
Goliaths have a diverse set of religious traditions. Some revere Banor the Bowhunter. Tribes in the Shadowcrags and the Icehorn Mountains most often follow the Wardens of the Wood and the Ashbound, among other druidic sects.[6]
Goliaths of the Titan's Teeth Mountains in Xen'drik follow serpent cults where they revere couatls for imprisoning demons.[4][5][6]
