The Fangs of Argarak are a mountain range in central Xen'drik, extending from the Ash Cauldrons in the south into the jungles. They lie east of the desert of Menechtarun.[2][3]
Geography[]
This massive mountain range boasts some of the highest peaks in the world beyond Argonnessen.[3]
Inhabitants[]
Abeils are claimed to have one or more of their hive-cities somewhere in the foothills of the Fangs of Argarak.[1]
Various goatfolk and orc tribes are said to dwell in the Fangs of Argarak, trading with the armands of the Menechtarun desert.[4]
Meanwhile, the cold high peaks are home to the yak folk. Travelers, drow, and giants who venture too close to their mountain dwellings risk becoming their victims.[1] Yak folk puppeteers—those with sorcerous abilities—body meld with giant tribes to both drive off threats to the yak folk communities on the mountain peaks and draw giant tribes to serve as new serfs for their communities.[5]
Locations[]
In the northern mountains stands Tharkgun Dhak ("Broken Giant Place" in Giant[6]), a cliff-side fortress fallen into ruins and dominated by ogres. It holds a passage into Khyber and is plagued by beings of madness.[2]
