Eldritch machines are a type of wondrous location constructed by powerful mages or artificers.[1][2]
Description[]
Eldritch machines are large and powerful magical devices with a wide array of applications. Examples of eldritch machines include the creation forges of House Cannith, or the dimensional seals used by the Gatekeepers to protect Eberron from the daelkyr.[1][2]
Many eldritch machines require special components or locations to function, and are often difficult to operate.[3] They are generally stationary, due to their large size making them difficult to move.[2]
In some cases, certain eldritch machines might require specific conditions or components to function.[2] This could include being constructed in a manifest zone while two or more planes are coterminous,[2] during a conjunction of the moons of Eberron,[4] or on a special date such as Long Shadows.[5]
History[]
Some eldritch machines dating back to the Age of Giants discovered in Xen'drik even use Prophecy marks as a form of power.[6] The Cul'sir giants of the Age of Giants were able to craft artifacts and eldritch machines.[7]
