Dvaarnava is a hidden monastery that is the only port in Adar.[1][2]
Geography[]

A ship nearing Dvaarnava amidst a stormy sea.
Dvaarnava is located on the southernmost tip of Adar. While most of Adar's coastline is sheer cliffs, ships can dock at Dvaarnava by traveling past a maze of stone spires into a natural cavern in the cliffs.[1][2]
Most of the population of Dvaarnava live in grottoes farther up the cliffs to be safe from the stormy waters.[1]
Trade[]
As Adar's only port, most of the region's trade flows through the port. Most trade is done with Ardhmen in Syrkarn, but some ships travel further to Khorvaire.[1][2]
Defenses[]
The port is heavily guarded by both constructed and natural defenses. Reaching the natural cavern requires navigating past sharp rocks and stormy waters. A sisiutl resides in the cavern and questions those who enter, and if a hostile ship makes it past that creature, the port's inhabitants can fire upon it from the passages above.[2]
A shroud resonator deep within the monastery protects the monastery and the region of Adar from scrying and teleportation.[3]
Inhabitants[]
Like the rest of Adar, Dvaarnava is mostly humans and kalashtar. A few xephs work as merchants in the port. The Summit Road is also active in the port, mainly traversing between it and Ardhmen.[2]
Representatives of the Keepers of the Word reside within the monastery-fortress.[4] The Summit Road operates out of here.[5][6]
