Deep crystal is a kind of psionically resonant high-quality crystal mined from deep within the earth.[1]
Description[]
Deep crystal is crystal that is above-average quality. It is found at the center of large veins and deposits of mundane crystal. Deep crystal is renowned for its strength and psionic resonance.[1]
The material is highly prized by the Inspired and Chosen of Riedra.[2]
Use[]
Deep crystal is used to craft weapons to better channel psionic power. Psionic wielders are able to make greater use of psionic weapons made of deep crystal than they would if the weapon was otherwise made of mundane crystal. Manifesters can channel psionic power through a weapon made of deep crystal to inflict greater damage for a time.[1][2]
The Akiak culture of duergar and dwarves are expert at mining deep crystal and using the material.[3] Deep crystal is used in the construction of psiforged as they are crafted in creation forges.[4]
Lands[]
Deep crystal can be found in the Tashana Tundra,[3] and in the border with the northern Dor Maleer province of Riedra along the Frostblade Mountains.[5]
The Riedran city of Dar Qat was partly established by the Inspired in Xen'drik to gain access to dragonshards, deep crystal, and the raw components to make crysteel from the continent.[6][note 1]
