Death Comes Easy by Parker DeWolf is an unpublished Eberron novel that was intended to be released in 2009 and later in November 2010. It was to be the third and final book in The Lanternlight Files series and conclude the story of fixer Ulther Whitsun.[1][2]
The Lanternlight Files returns the Eberron story to its hardboiled detective roots. If you like your fantasy with tough guys and seedy streets, this is the series for you.
Life on the streets of Sharn is never easy, but in the darker, seedier neighborhoods, where gangs rule the streets, it's downright deadly. Not a good place for business. In hopes of evening the playing field a bit, Ulther sets two of the nastier gangs at odds, in hopes that their war will wipe each other out. But he may find himself caught in the middle. When surviving gets this hard, death comes easy.Development[]
It, together with Dragon War, Word of Traitors, and others in the 2009 schedule, was intended to "take a step away from traditional high fantasy novels and toward what makes Eberron more, well, Eberron." according to a Gen Con panel comprising Keith Baker, James Wyatt, Stephen Schubert, and Jeremy Crawford in 2008.[1] However, it was never released before the Eberron novel line was discontinued in 2012.
