Chraals are elementals of blue-black ice, crafted from the death of exceptionally evil or cruel creatures on their plane. Chraals can be found on the plane of Risia, though they are known to travel to Eberron through manifest zones.[1][2]

Description[]

Chraals are 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and weigh 1,000 to 2,000 pounds (450 to 910 kilograms). They are icy blue or black in color, and look cold to the touch. They have a humanoid shape, with ice spikes protruding from their backs and along their limbs. Cold blue light leaks from their eyes, mouths, and joints. They possess sharp talons, and even sharper teeth.[1]

Personality[]

Chraals have a rudimentary intelligence, and while they cannot speak, they can be commanded to follow orders. They are solitary creatures, and do not intermingle, though they also do not attack each other upon sight. In combat, they are ruthless killers, seeming to relish in the blood of their enemies. They are smart enough to understand basic strategies, and will attack either someone who possesses fire or the weakest member of a party.[1]

Abilities[]

Chraals will usually open combat with their freezing breath. In addition to this icy blast, Chraals emanate cold, and even their melee attacks are cold to the touch. They are surrounded by an aura of cold, and this cold can even prevent certain magics from affecting them. When a chraal dies or is slain, it explodes in a wave of icy cold.[1]

Chraals have superhuman strength, and a chraal can crush stone in its bare hands. Chraals use their sharp talons and their great strength to fight opponents in melee combat. Chraals also possess darkvision.[1]
