A chilling fog is a type of living spell arising from a cone of cold spell.[1]

Description[]

This living spell looks like a 10‑foot-diameter (3‑meter) cloud of thick fog that radiates freezing cold and drifts across the land as it closes in on its prey.[1]

Behavior[]

Found in cold and marshy environments, chilling fogs typically hover around misty areas, which makes them hard to spot before they strike.[1]

Abilities[]

Like all living spells, a chilling fog has blindsight to 60 feet (18 meters); is immune to gazes, mind-affecting spells and abilities, poison, magical sleep, paralysis, polymorphing, and stunning; is not vulnerable to flanking maneuvers not serious injuries; and has resistances to damage from non-magical weapons and spells.[1]

As normal for living spells, a chilling fog can move over and envelop smaller creatures, grabbing hold of them and even carry them along unless they escape.[1]

Any creature struck by or engulfed by a chilling fog is blasted with intense freezing cold.[1]

Relations[]

Chilling fogs and other living spells might be found following ragewalkers.[2]
