Bronze dragons are a subspecies of dragon that prefer to dwell near coastlines. Their amphibious nature allows them to establish lairs both above and below the waterline.[1][4]

History[]

Bronze dragons are often seen in the Dragonreach between Aerenal and Argonnessen. Sailors prefer to avoid sailing the Dragonreach so as not to encounter them or dragon turtles.[5]

Symbology[]

In the Sovereign Host pantheon, the goddess Arawai is sometimes depicted as a bronze dragon.[6]

Notable Bronze Dragons[]

  • The Bronze Brigade, an elite unit of bronze dragon soldiers in service of the Light of Siberys.[7]
  • Brightshield, a former member of the Bronze Brigade exiled to Xen'drik for a crime he didn't commit. [8]
  • Jancarlyrix, a loredrake great wyrm considered the wisest dragon in the Tapestry.[9]
  • Shadewing, a rogue dragon in Khorvaire fascinated by necromancy. [10]
  • Voldrangor the Seeker, a Chamber agent operating in Stormreach.[11]
