Amulets of enemy detection are a type of psionically powered amulet from Riedra that warn the wearer of those who wish to hurt them.[1]
Description[]
Suspended from a heavy gold chain, the amulet is made of crysteel that is intricately carved and set with gold and splinters of crystal. In total it weights 0.25 pounds (110 grams).[1]
Creation[]
The crystals are collected from the shells of Eberron dragonshards. To craft the amulet requires skill in creating psionic items and the detect hostile intent psionic power.[1]
Powers[]
It uses its psionics to telepathically warn the wearer of hostile intent from people nearby, up to 30 feet (9.1 meters) away. However, while the wearer would know the direction, they would not know the precise location or identity, such as if many people are nearby. In any case, the wearer also cannot be caught by surprise if ambushed, unless the attacked is protected against mind-affecting powers. Moreover, the wearer can easily attempt to discern deception and hidden motives in those around them.[1]
On first putting one on, the wearer needs to meditate for one hour and focus their psyche and personality into the amulet of enemy detection in order to attune. It remained so until separate for longer than a week or attuned by another.[1]
