The Age of Taratai (AT) is the primary calendar system used in the region of Adar by the kalashtar.[1] The calendar begins dating years from the birth of the kalashtar race 1800 years ago, when rebel quori from the plane of Dal Quor were bound to the souls of human monks in Adar.[2] The calendar is named for Taratai, the leader of the rebel quori.[1]
History[]
Originally the monasteries of Adar used different calendars based on dates important to that particular monastic sect. However, the Speaker of the Word encouraged adoption of the Age of Taratai as a common calendar across Adar.[1]
The year 1 AT corresponds to -1,800 years or -802 YK from the present day of 998 YK in Khorvaire's reckoning.[3][4]
