Adamantine is an ultra-hard and extraordinarily durable alloy found in unusual mineral veins, particularly near Eston or in the Graywall Mountains.[1][2] When properly smelted in specially designed forges, it produces a metal that can be used to make nearly impenetrable armor and weapons that can hold the keenest edges.[3] The material is also sometimes used to make special warforged components.[4][5][6]
House Cannith currently smelts adamantine, but has lost access to their mines in Eston because of the destruction on the Day of Mourning.[7] However, the masters of working with adamantine were the ancient smiths of the Dhakaani Empire, and many surviving artifacts of the Empire contain the material.[8][9] The material was also used by the ancient giants of Xen'drik, who favored using adamantine armor and weapons.[10]
