894 YK was a year in Eberron that took place 894 years after the founding of Galifar (YK),[1] 1196 years after the founding of the Unity of Riedra (Unity),[2] and 1696 years into the Age of Taratai (AT),[3]. It took place 104 years before the present year of 998 YK.

894 YK was dominated by the death of King Jarot ir'Wynarn of Galifar, which sparked the Last War, ending the kingdom of Galifar.[4][5]

  • 12 of Therendor: King Jarot of Galifar dies.[6] On his deathbed, Jarot endorses his daughter Mishann as the next ruler and makes his son Wrogar swear to support his claim. Jarot's other children Kaius, Thalin, Wroann are not present and later reject Mishann's claim to the throne, initiating the Last War.[7]

  • In late 894, Mishann ir'Wynarn declares herself Queen of Cyre and United Galifar and prepares to sail to Thronehold to claim the throne. However, naval forces of Thrane blockade the island, preventing her from landing.[7]
  • Kaius ir'Wynarn I declares himself King of Karrnath and rejects Mishann's claim to the throne of Galifar.[7][8]
  • Thalin ir'Wynarn declares himself King of Thrane and rejects Mishann's claim to the throne of Galifar.[7][9]
  • Wroann ir'Wynarn declares herself Queen of Breland and rejects Mishann's claim to the throne of Galifar.[7][10]
  • Wrogar ir'Wynarn declares himself King of Aundair, with his sister Mishann's blessing.[7][11]
  • The Battle of the Galifar Heirs, the first major battle of the Last War is fought after the forces of Breland and Thrane fight Cyran troops to capture or kill Queen Mishann. However, the quick arrival of reinforcements from Aundair allows Mishann and her supporters to retreat and avoid capture.[12]
  • Brelish consul Kainen ir'Ranek seizes the Galifaran consulate in Stormreach when news breaks of Wroann laying claim to the throne.[13]
